Want to know more about boundary changes? The Bureau of the Census conducts the Boundary and Annexation Survey every year to find changes in the legal boundaries and names of areas. This information is then used in their annual surveys, like the Population Estimates Program and American Community Survey.
ReplyDeleteFor counties that have annexed land or experienced rapid growth between the decennial census, counties can request a Special Census. Not every county does this when annexing, in fact no one has in CO, but for a list of those counties that have, see the certified counts page.
