Today President Bush gave a speech at National Defense University announcing that the U.S. will withdraw 8,000 American troops from Iraq by February 2009. He also discussed plans to increase the number of U.S. troops in Afghanistan, explaining that some troops that were to be deployed to Iraq will now be deployed to Afghanistan.
