Rep. Tancredo is the Chairman to the Congressional Immigration Reform Caucus a group dedicated to "highlight the continuing growth in illegal immigration through an aggressive press and member education operation."
The Denver Post wrote an article on Rep. Tancredo's comments and Gov. Bush's response entitled "Jeb Bush, Tancredo go mano a mano."

Joan Didion said the same thing, more elegantly, in her 1987 book, Miami. She said the Cuban enclave, better-educated and well-heeled than most immigrant groups, disdains democratic traditions as weak and low-class. They run their communities as they see fit, even holding city council meetings entirely in Spanish, and they mete out their own justice, ignoring the law of the land.
ReplyDeleteThey somehow think that when Castro dies they'll be welcomed back and heralded as the new ruling class (as deluded as those who want their heads frozen when they die so the next generation will have the privilege of thawing them and including them in their society).
