House Holds Hearing on AIG

Yesterday the U.S. House of Representatives held a hearing to discuss the global economic impact of insurance company American International Group (AIG), which has received over $150 billion in federal aid within the past year and is offering $165 million in bonuses to its executives. Read about the hearing in the New York Times.

To watch a webcast of the hearing, "American International Group’s Impact on the Global Economy: Before, During, and After Federal Intervention," see the House Financial Committee's website. You can also view the blog on to read President Obama's criticism of the AIG bonuses.

And now would be an interesting time to see what has to say about the AIG bonuses. Unfortunately, the top of this web page still reads, "This site is coming soon."
