Visit a National Park for Free

This week is National Park Week for the U.S. National Park Service, which means that entrance to all national parks is free of charge (April 17 to 25)! Use this web directory to find a national park in your state (search by name, location, activity, or topic). The NPS Reference Desk provides additional contact information.

Even if you can't make it out to the parks this week, you can still take a virtual tour of our nation's natural resources:
  • Views of the National Parks Select a park or theme, and then use the tabs at the top of screen to view photos and learn about the area's ecology, wilderness, and research efforts.
  • NPS Focus This digital library searches across multiple National Park Service databases and provides full-text access to reports.
  • Virtual Museum Exhibits These are virtual exhibits of the National Parks museum collections.
